AT: Small Cool

We are all Apartment Therapy Addicts, aren't we? Or did I just confess to something? AT is high on my reading list and this years Small Cool was particularly good in my opinion.  While I liked Jordan, the US winner, I preferred one of the underdogs {always root for the underdog!}, Nicole.  Drink in this awesome, tiny space at only 750 sq ft!

Roommate Etiquette

Every single person is different, particularly when it comes to living situations.  All of you Nesters have your own habits and also your own pet peeves. Some people are communal livers and some people are loners. {I am of the latter breed.} But no matter what sect of liver you belong to, there are some ground rules for living with roommates...

The Plight of the Cable Bill

 Heya Nesters!  So, this blog is not just about decor but also about apartment living. Now that I'm living alone, I am 100% self reliant.  And let me tell you-- life is good!  There is no one but myself to get mad at when the dishes are in the sink. I can't have an unexpected guest because I always know who's coming over!  But coming from the shared responsibility of a roommate situation can haunt you... even three months later.

Back to School II

Heya Nesters!  I am back with you on this bright Monday Morning with an albeit late follow up post to Thursdays Back to School post.  We discussed consigning, donating and throwing away some of your clothes to make room for that oh-so-cute new Autumn attire.  Or just to clean things up and declutter. So now what are you supposed to do with all those things you are keeping?

Switcheroo Number Two!

Heya Nesters!  I had been mooning over flipping the layout of my bedroom similar to the way I changed my living room around.  So, Friday night I carpe diem'd and started hauling all my accessories out of the room.  All the junk under the bed, the mirror off the dresser, pulled the drawers out were hap-hazardly thrown in the kitchen.  Remember the awkward lay out before hand?

Heya Nesters!  Now that I've cleared out those two Ikea bookshelves and replaced them with this one. I've found the space around the TV stand unbearably empty. 

I want it not to feel empty anymore, but I also don't want to feel cluttered.  I've already started contemplating the space under the clock which I'll highlight in another post. But the other side next to the door deserves a warm, welcoming addition since its the first thing you see as you open the door.

Eleven of us rented a house in rural Vermont this weekend {though having driven through it, I'm not entirely sure there are parts of Vermont that aren't rural} and had a blast. But let me tell you... it makes me realize how much I love coming back to my new home.  

On My Own

For those of you who have been reading this blog since day one, you know that this isn't only about decorating and DIY projects. It was about the struggle of living with roommates and finding a new place- alone.  Yes, it is okay to admit that on occasion {or more often than that in my case} you and your roommate(s) may see eye to eye.
