Hiya Nesters! I hope you all had a wonderful {and safe} holiday. I spent the good portion of the long weekend keeping up the packing momentum. It got really bare really fast when I took down the gallery wall. But the good news is that we've already accumulated some new goodies in the meantime!

Happy 4th of July!
Last years 4th of July long weekend was much different than this years will be. We spent 2 days on the beach sunning ourselves, then a BBQ with friends followed by a stunning fireworks display. This year, will be furniture shopping and painting. With the move in countdown to 9 days, we are busy bee's. Hopefully we can take some time for a beer and some fireworks. For those of you who are greater Boston area locals, we go to the Newton fireworks display. They are seriously impressive for a suburb! But the Big Kahuna of displays is, of course, Boston. So without further adieu, lets check out the mastery of the pyrotechnicians behind the rib-cage rattling, tummy-rumbling, awe-inspiring show.

The Beginning of the End
If you've followed Temporary Nest for even just a short while, you'll probably have noticed that I'm a pretty big sap. Big, fat, sentimental, cheeseball. So the move was all well and good in theory, but now the count is down to 12 days, the real sentimental side of me is piping up. My house is replete with boxes- some empty, some full.
YIKES.

Painting the town... gray?
Matt and his brother started in on the serious job of painting the entire interior of the house. That's a whole lot of paint. Not to mention, a whole lot of paint choices. I met them at Home Depot to pick out the last few colors. And boy oh boy was it an adventure....

Not So Temporary Nest
Heya Nesters! I have a BIG announcement to make today. I kept this to myself for a long time because I didn't want to jinx anything {I'm bad at doing that} or drag anything out for ever and ever. Allow me to start at the beginning... about two months ago, Matt called me at home and started chatting about moving in together. It was always something that I had wanted, but wanted to wait until he was ready. Things were made more complex with the fact that he already owned a condo with his brother. So it was never as easy as "When is your lease up?" He started talking about buying a two family house so that we could share it with his brother and his brothers girlfriend. But I know many people house hunt for months and months and even years. It look Matt almost 2 years to find the right condo to buy. So I wasn't anticipating any action anytime soon.

Happy Blogiversary, Nesters!
One year ago today, a drained 9-5'er reached for her laptop while lazing about in bed, watching TV and started a blog. This blog.

Lay it out on the line... again...
Back in April, before I had even moved in, I was already planning where all my furniture would go. Remember I was testing out my lay outs in this post? Once the lugging of all my junk was finished, I ended up with a similar version of possibility number 4.

Home Sweet Home
Home. Sweet. Home.
Eleven of us rented a house in rural Vermont this weekend {though having driven through it, I'm not entirely sure there are parts of Vermont that aren't rural} and had a blast. But let me tell you... it makes me realize how much I love coming back to my new home.
