If I Had a Million Dollars: Jewels for Your Rooms

I have a confession: I am scared of using bold colors in my home.  I think many people feel that way.  I have ideas galore of great colors and what would work without clashing but still being bold and make a statement.  And then I step into my beige house. Hello, Beige couch.  Hello, Beige walls, Bathroom, kitchen, bedroom.... everything!  But it's safe.  My theory is that down the line I will have a home I own, that I can paint the walls rich colors and that way my furniture will match whatever walls I paint!  That's why this week, If I Had a Million Dollars I would have my whole house in rich, saturated jewel tones.

The accessories in this room really complete the jewel toned heaven. The chair that incorporates all the colors and the bedding are all spectacular. Is it bad that my favorite part is still the silver deer head?  Damn you neutrals!!

Ajar?

Heya Nesters! Today's post is a question for you guys and I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter, so leave comments a plenty!

At the end of the day, when you're sleepy eyed and you've brushed your teeth and are in your coziest PJ's... you walk into your bedroom to settle down for a long winters nap go to sleep...do you shut the door behind you or leave it open?

Headboard Doubts

I've said before that I've been feeling like a bad Decor Mommy to my Bedroom because I've been completely neglecting it. When I was living in my old apartment, my bedroom was the only thing I had all to myself and I truly put all my efforts into making it a luxurious space for me to relax {in an otherwise tumultuous household}. So, now that I'm in a place all to myself and have the freedom of having guests over, I've been focusing my efforts on having a space where my visitors will be comfortable {AKA the living room}and thus my bedroom decor gets tossed by the wayside.  *sigh*

But I'm tired of walking into a bedroom that looks like a catch-all. I want my sanctuary back...

On My Own

For those of you who have been reading this blog since day one, you know that this isn't only about decorating and DIY projects. It was about the struggle of living with roommates and finding a new place- alone.  Yes, it is okay to admit that on occasion {or more often than that in my case} you and your roommate(s) may see eye to eye.
