The DIY Show Off

Heya Nesters!! I just want start off with a special thanks Roeshel over at The DIY Show Off who was so kind enough to feature me {and some other lucky bloggers} on yesterdays post!

I love her blog.  She's got her very own DIY community over there and I know I LOVE to see what others are working on and now, to think that she added not one, not two but THREE of my projects on there! Heya Nesters! I know it's Wednesday and it's going to be a long one.  But lets rise against the doldrums and enjoy some eye candy.  Shall we? I just had to share with you guys this amazing room designed by Kendall Wilkinson for Traditional Home. 

I know what you're thinking: Incredible. The unapologetically bold colors and the hyper glam silhouettes and textures... I have no words.  {Ok, maybe a few.}  I bow down at the feet of Kendall Wilkinson for their show stopping room.  I just thought you all might like the hump day stunning space!

One Mans Trash....

....is my treasure!  Matt and I went out to one of our favorite indoor Flea Markets on Saturday afternoon. We showed up only about an hour and a half before their marked closing time so we made a huge, speedy loop before we started getting down to the nitty-gritty.

To give you an idea of the caliber of this flea market, there was one of these Panthers there just waiting for a good home. We've also seen a helicopter, an 8 seater horse drawn carriage and most recently a larger than life-size elephant head from a movie set.  So! On that note, lets see the goods that we picked up. 

Upholstery Class: Week 8.5

Heya Nesters! Welcome back to Monday! Did you guys miss my upholstery class progress report as much as I missed sharing it? {But let's be real, throwing a super fun Jack and Jill baby shower for The Raz was well worth it.}  

 I do have some exciting news to share!  I am taking another class at Broadway Upholstery School! And you know what that means, right? More Upholstery Chronicles for you guys!  My new class started this past Wednesday evening, and I had my old class on Saturday as well! Two in one week! {Hence week 8.5} That means Satine has changed a bunch since you saw her last. Let's get started, shall we?

Last we spoke I wrote, I left you as I was adding the buttons to the back of the chair with the biggest needle I've ever seen in my life.

Just wanted to pop in on you guys to show you a GORGEOUS duvet that I'm considering to improve my bedroom that I broke down this past week.

Thank you Dwell designers for being amazing. You rock my world. This is modern and classic with a little hint of Asian inspiration and an amazing colorway.

Bedroom Inspiration

Heya Nesters! Coming on the heels of yesterdays love.like.loathe. post, I decided to look at some yellow, aqua, and chocolate colored rooms to see how they've worked it and see what tickles my fancy.  I know that I want to mix some patterns in there. I'm usually a "solids" kinda gal, but this time 'round, I will dare to be daring!

The gold mirror in this room was the inspiration to paint my leaner gold. Wouldn't it be incredible??  I also love that this room includes the olive color to mute down things a bit.

Heya Nesters! Yellow, Aqua and Chocolate. Those are the colors of my bedroom.  Way back yonder, in my old apartment, I had the most beautiful pale aqua walls that were so incredibly soothing and they totally tied my whole decor together.

Now with the "no painting" policy in my current apartment, I have been feeling a bit lost in terms of where to go with my bedroom decor. 

Baby Shower Reveal

Heya Nesters! You may have noticed I've been a little MIA in the last week or so. I've been prepping for the long distance baby shower I have been planning for my brother and sister-in-law.  I'm happy to announce that all my hard work paid off.  It's over, the party was a success and I can finally breath.

The best decor of all was the nearly 360 degree view of Manhattan from the 38th floor, with a beautiful blue sky and warm{ish} Spring{ish} day.
