Vogue- Strike a pose!

Heya Nesters!

After the proposal, we both made the rounds calling all our friends and family.  When I called one of my oldest friends to tell her the good news, her brother was yelling in the background, "I want to do their engagement photos!!" He is half of the team at Creative Images Boston.

We jumped at the chance to have a friend photograph us, and booked a the first Sunday after the New Year- after all the holiday-mania was over.  And after many weeks of gray, snowy days, the sun broke through the clouds and we snuck down to Great Brook Farm in Carlisle for our shoot.

Shannon Dillon and her husband, Rod Cornejo, are a photography team called Creative Images Boston.  Shannon is the spunky, hilarious lead photographer and Rod is the McGuyver of the team, at one point he was holding 3 reflectors at one time in some seriously high winds while shooting back up images.  They were not messing around.

Matt was apprehensive to say the least about having professional engagement photos taken.  I don't know that I even want to use them for Save the Dates. But I just thought it was a great excuse to have some fabulous pictures taken that weren't selfies.  Luckily, Shannon and Rod are so laid back and funny that they put us both at ease immediately and we could relax into our poses.

We spent about an hour in the farm and decided we would love to head over to the adorable general store that we drove past on our way to the farm.  The store was called Ferns Country Store and they made the experience even better.

We went inside to ask for permission to use their site first, then went back in shortly when we thought having some hot chocolate would be a cute prop.  Not only did they allow us to use their store as our backdrop, but they gave us 2 Ferns tumblers and the hot chocolate.   It was above and beyond nice of them.

After we "wrapped" we sat with Shannon and Rod for some delicious sandwiches from the store's fresh deli  and just caught up.  We are so excited to be friends with the people that will be so close to us on our wedding day.

It was just an awesome experience all together and I can't wait to tell you more about wedding details and maybe I'll even get you caught up on a house tour one of these days!!

So, despite not having the pictures of the proposal, we now have some amazing images where I'm not airplane-fresh and rumpled or holding the camera myself, hoping I get both faces in. Hope you guys like them too, Nesters!!

XOXO
G
